Anne Wimer was just selected by Nabisco as one of the winners of the Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs’ "Celebrating 100 Extraordinary Women" contest, which search for women whose contributions to friends, family, community and society have made a significant impact. Wimer was selected from among thousands of contest entrants for her work with mothers and families dealing with postpartum mood disorders. Through her work with Moms Supporting Moms, she has helped nearly 1,000 families in North Carolina get through perinatal mood disorders. She will be featured with other winners in a two-page spread in various Time Inc. magazines this October, and was able to attend the LA Film Festival.
Many congratulations, Anne, and thank you for your dedication!

Wow, that is great. Congrats.
It is so important to help others deal with PPD. I remember all too well how hard it was for me.
Love the site.
Hello Anne! Congratulations!
I'm so glad that you are getting the word out that there is help for new moms suffering with PPD. I met you at Nabisco's 100 Extraordinary Women in LA.
It is wonderful that there is support so readily available via your website!
I am the lady who told you that I suffered severe post-partum psychosis, for six months, with my first child and went on to have a very healthy postpartum experience with my second child in 1991, after receiving a hormone-deceleration-preventative injection (hormone replacement) immediately following the birth, then Premarin for a month following. If I had not had this treatment, chances of recurring postpartum psychosis are 1 in 3. My advice: Don't try to go without supporting hormone balance!!!
* This breakthrough came for me thanks to the former President of the Marce' Society,
the late Dr. Hamilton.
I plan to write about ways to cope during
this very difficult time of healing for new moms. The good news is, it doesn't last forever!!! Thank God. – Julie Dickhaut
