Since last Friday, the Ultimate Blog Party 2010 has been raging on. I was on vacation for Spring Break, and have then been furiously trying to catch up, so of course I'm getting to the party very late. But I want to say hi to all the mamas out there celebrating Ultimate Blog Party and welcome you to Postpartum Progress.
Postpartum Progress is the most widely-read blog in the US on postpartum depression and other mental illnesses related to childbirth, including postpartum OCD, postpartum anxiety, postpartum psychosis and postpartum PTSD. It was created to provide resources to moms who are or think they may be suffering. If you are one of them, or know someone who may be, or have survived such an illness, I'd especially like to welcome you. Here you can find support group information, specialist information, stories from moms all around the country, the awesome Surviving & Thriving Mothers Photo Album and much more. I hope you'll look around. You can follow us on Twitter here: @postpartumprogr. You can join our Facebook Fan Page here. Or you can subscribe by clicking on the subscribe tab at the top of the home page.
Oh, and my name is Katherine and I'm the mom of two children, my sweet boy aged 8 and my sweet girl aged 4. Aaaand, if you want to participate in UBP10 there's still time (it ends Friday), so click here for more info.
Now I'm off to read lots of new blogs that are participating in UPB10. Make sure to comment here if you are someone who has been affected either directly or indirectly by perinatal mood or anxiety disorders!!
WOW you are truly providing a gift. I remember going through this and still wonder at times if it even goes away. I could not find a blog like this anywhere. Your site provides information that is priceless!
I am from the UBP10 and I am so happy to have found your site!
Hope you're enjoying the blog party! I'm pregnant (due in a couple weeks) with #3. Son #1 is almost 5yrs, Son #2 is 3yr and special needs… I'm sure this postpartum will be a rocky one. I'm thankful to have a great support system of friends and family close by to help out.
I just found you through the blog party. What a great resource. I could have used this earlier, but I'm sure there are things I can still learn. Thank you!
