May is Maternal Mental Health Month, so as you might imagine there are lots of things going on. Here are a few:
The California Maternal Mental Heath Collaborative will hold a press conference, panel discussion and networking luncheon on Monday, May 6th at the capitol in Sacramento, CA. The Collaborative will also be launching The 2020 Mom Project, which sets forth an alternative path for awareness, prevention and treatment by engaging hospitals and health insurance companies. May 12th, Mother’s Day, is the 5th annual Mother’s Day Rally for Moms’ Mental Health right here at Postpartum Progress. All you have to do is pull up a chair and pull up our website on your computer, tablet or smartphone to get massive doses of love, understanding and wisdom from lots of moms who’ve had postpartum depression and anxiety and the like. We can’t wait to see you!!!!
The Postpartum Health Alliance of San Diego will host its 6th annual Mamafest on May 17th. Watch their website as more details get released soon.
The inaugural “Ribbons and Roses Luncheon” celebrating women’s mental health will be held Wednesday, May 22nd, from 11:30 – 1pm at the River Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas. It is the first major fundraiser for the Yates Children Memorial Fund. Lucy Puryear, MD, a perinatal mood and anxiety expert named one of the best doctors in America, will be the keynote speaker.
