In case you missed it, here’s the Huffington Post Live segment on postpartum depression that aired today, featuring myself, Jill Williams Krause from Babyrabies, therapist and author extraordinaire Karen Kleiman and an obstetrician. Let me know what you think. Was it helpful? What else would you have liked for us to talk about? Was there anything you didn’t like?

Wow – what an amazing interview. Very impressed and education is what is needed. I was just on a girls’ weekend with all but one mom married with kids, and ppd is VERY common. We are all close enough to share, and it was refreshing to be honest. It is hard. Very hard. The transition…from a new identity, to a stay-at-home or a part-time or a full-time working only with child now to think about and juggle, WOW. I told my girlfriends about your website, and I just listened to your live interview and it just reconfirmed why I follow your website and believe in the cause to educate women on PPD (and anxiety and OCD). Keep in comin’, PLEASE.
Wow. I loved this piece Katherine. So powerful to have 5 incredibly well spoken experts/moms talk about PPD.
The only topic I would have loved to hear added to the discussion is validation that intrusive thoughts are rarely acted upon; that generally moms who harm their children in the postpartum period are suffering from something more severe (psychosis, which impacts .2% of our population).
Katherine, was there anything you wish had been covered that wasn’t?
I’m sharing, sharing sharing this piece… Yay HuffPost!
