Postpartum Progress reader & Warrior Mom Deborah Rimmler wrote the kindest and most tear-inducing nomination of mefor the Our Bodies Ourselves Women's Health Hero Award. You can't imagine how it feels to have someone you've never even met in person do that. I feel like wherever I'm walking there is a ray of sunshine spraying down on me.
It makes up for the time I got that email after the MOTHERS Act was passed recently stating that I might as well start working to get the mercury put back in vaccines since I promoted the MOTHERS Act and am clearly a stooge for big pharma. Oh, and the comments about me on other blogs stating that I'm obviously addicted to myriads of prescription drugs. Mm'hmm, right. Gotta love that stuff.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart Deborah!
And then, Morra Arrons-Mele of WomenOnline tweeted today asking herfollowers to vote for me for the Award, saying I inspired her. The result of her inspiration will be appearing (I can't take the anticipation!!) on the Huffington Post on Sunday. Another ray of sunshine!
Thank you Deborah and Morra. And to all of those of you who send me the kindest, most generous private emails. Thank you. Happy Mother's Day.
And, since I guess there's some sort of voting involved in this whole deal, I'm shamelessly asking for your vote. Again. ;-} Voting ends May 7, this Friday. Quick!Go here. At the bottom of the post click the little thumbs up button. Thanks!
Keep focusing on the good comments but keep an eye at the bad ones to and always ask yourself if there is any truth in both of them 😉
Ummmm nope. There isn't. But thanks.
Katherine, this honor is well deserved. Despite the large numbers of women who suffer from perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, most feel painfully alone. You have created a safe place for them to feel understood and connected. Thank you for doing this so courageously and honestly. I am sorry that you have received mean spirited comment in the course of doing this wonderful work.
Thank you for your very kind words Marlene.
It's an honor to have you as a reader. Truly. I always get giddy when super smart people are following this blog. 😉
