How many of you with previous psychiatric illnesses have immediately stopped taking your psychiatric medication cold turkey the minute you found out you were pregnant? Many women with depression during pregnancy do just the same.

i am battling this situation now…i tapered off my medications prior to attempting to conceive in aug of this year. along with situational changes, i've had a major relapse and made the decision to start my medications again and reassess my conception plan. i totally did not gather enough support for myself, and i believe that played a big part in my relapse. thanks for this information, always…
Good for you, Alisha, that you are regrouping and are aware of your situation. Gathering support will make a huge difference for you.
I'm going through this myself now, only my doctors unknowingly led me down a path or something, of weaning too quickly.
Now, I'm very hesitant, confused, dismayed, and totally relapsed. One of the worst parts is that rather than being able to regroup, I have to get past my doctors and therapist blaming *me* for tapering too fast (even though they were the ones supporting my dropping meds and told me to do so as quickly as I was comfortable).
Good for you for finding this site and the resources.
