Two new studies are seeking participants. If you are eligible, I hope you'll participate.
The first is taking a look at how symptoms of postpartum OCD affect different aspects of the relationship between new mothers and their infants. Your participation in their online surveywill allow researchers to develop diagnosis and treatment protocols for women with PPOCD. To participate, you must have a child between 2 and 32 weeks of age, be the child's biological mother and be between 18 and 50 years of age. This must be your first-born child. If you meet the eligibility requirements, click here to learn more and take the online survey. This study is being conducted by researchers from the University of South Florida.
The second is a research study looking at how sleep patterns change during pregnancy and after a new baby is born, and how sleep changes and genetics affect mood. They are seeking healthy pregnant women ages 18-40 with a history of depression or bipolar disorder. The study involves wearing a wrist activity monitor for one week during pregnancy and one week about 6 weeks after the baby is born. (You should also probably live in or very near Rhode Island.) Participants receive payment for their time and effort. For more information, call Beth at 401-421-9940 or visit www.sleepforscience.org. This study is being conducted by researchers from Rhode Island Hospital and Women and Infants Hospital in Providence, RI.
