Several of you have asked me how to contact ABC to share your feelings directly on the “Private Practice” episode. My dear friend Erin (thanks E-roc!!) sent me this information yesterday and I think it’s good to have for everyone who actively promotes more responsible representation of mental illness in the media:

The Parents Television Council website has a page with information on how to contact the broadcast and cable networks. They suggest you name the show, tell them if you approve or disapprove of it, give your reasons why, say if you will or will not watch the show, and tell them you are contacting the advertisers and your local network affiliates. They also offer a section on how to contact advertisers.
